Case study
Creating Resilience at a Molecular Level
A busy creative agency wanted to help its leaders stay on top of their game in the face of a high-stress environment—e.g. over-scheduling, not enough sleep, and an ‘always-on’ communications cycle.
Intervention & Results
Wisdom Labs delivered a 12-week onsite Learning Lab. In collaboration with Dr. Steve Cole, the effectiveness of the mindfulness program was tracked with self-reported measures and an analysis of biomarkers. There was a statistically significant improvement in the downregulation of genes related to inflammation and an upregulation of genes related to immunity.
Wellbeing
A statistically significant improvement in flourishing as measured by the Mental Health Continuum Short Form.
Social Connectedness
Increased social connectedness as tracked by the UCLA Loneliness measure.
Awareness
An upward trend in ability to stay present as measured by the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire.

Help Employees Navigate Change
After initial breakout success, this hardware startup experienced a series of new product failures. In the wake of layoffs and losses, the learning and development team sought to re-engage and re-energize the workforce, building resilience in a cost-effective way.
The Intervention
Wisdom Labs led 2 different Learning Labs, one on Mindfulness and the other about Compassion, to teach the science behind stress and resilience—embedding practices that supported mindful leadership, better teaming, and employee engagement.
Mindfulness Lab
A 14% increase in mindfulness as measured by the Cognitive and Affective Mindfulness Scale; and an 12% increase in resilience as measured by the Bruce Smith scale measuring ability to bounce back.
Compassion Lab
A 19% increase in resilience as measured by the Bruce Smith scale measuring ability to bounce back. An 10% increase in the Compassionate Engagement and Action Scale (for Others).

Increase Employee Resilience and Wellbeing
Inspired by initial positive employee experiences, this technology company leader wanted to institutionalize wellness—through stress reduction and resilience building—as part of the organization’s culture and day-to-day operations.
The Intervention
Wisdom Labs engaged with the organization by offering an 8-week Learning Lab webinar series, supported by a learning app to help integrate new mindfulness and resilience practices into daily behavior.
The Result
Over the course of 8 weeks, participants reported a 17% increase in mindfulness as measured by the Cognitive and Affective Mindfulness Scale and an 18% increase in resilience as measured by the Bruce Smith scale measuring ability to bounce back. Both results were statistically significant.

Testimonials
We partnered with Wisdom Labs to provide a 5 week Foundations of Mindfulness program. I was thrilled with the thoughtful and research-backed content that drove wellness, employee engagement and a mindful movement at Yahoo. The Wisdom Labs team are excellent partners and are trusted thought leaders in the space. I highly recommend them
In our ultra-competitive business environment, we agreed to step outside the box and consider looking at the way we work differently. We reached out to Wisdom Labs in 2015 and I am glad we did. The feedback and the associated tools were very positive. Many of our employees have benefited both personally and professionally.
Wisdom Labs has been highly effective because they have taken the time to get to know us and have customized their solutions based on where we are as a company, our unique values and have even adopted our internal language. A great team to work with.
The event last week was nothing short of awesome. My team absolutely loved it! Everyone is still talking about it, and we even had a team member volunteer to be our "mindfulness guru" to hold everyone accountable for practicing what we learned
